Add the script tag

Paste it into your theme’s footer, or into a “header and footer code” plugin. In a child theme you can add it from functions.php:

Visitors only download a tiny loader; the widget stays hidden until someone opens a client link, follows a CommentKit email, presses Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + K or is already signed in. npx @commentkit/cli init shows the same tag with your key.

Staging sites

Add the staging address to the project’s websites and set data-branch on the staging copy, for example data-branch="staging", so its feedback can be filtered.

Caching and security

Clear your page cache after adding the tag. If a security plugin sets a Content Security Policy, allow CommentKit as described in the CSP guide. Optimisation plugins that combine or delay scripts should leave loader.js alone.
